We know, we know. Although it’s been a while and we were busy with becoming an official partner for Viber services (hold the applause), we didn’t allow that to put a shadow on what we do best – mobile display advertising.
In our creative lab, we’ve been cooking a whole new set of mobile ad banners inspired by the latest digital advertising trends, search engine regulations and innovations that you’re always hungry for – “something fresh, something new”.
Followed by the native advertising formats that you already know, now we go a step further in improving users’ experience. We are actually improving the experience of the readers – your audience, offering a new way of communicating your products as advertisers, and boosting more gain for you as publishers.
What we are actually talking about are five new Chrome safe mobile banner ad formats, which we are going to explain one by one in the following text supported by demo videos.
In-Image Frame
Can you imagine a banner that doesn’t pop up or appears within a text? How about a regular image in the text being framed with a promotional message?
Yes, now we are talking!
If your media brief is strict enough, this banner can even match the context of the content being read and you have a win-win impression of your banner. Take a look:
In-Image Canvas
Similar to the In-Image Frame, this format goes straight to the point. It covers the whole image once it appears. Since the banner is HTML5, it can also include a short animation. However, at one point, the banner collapses into smaller dimensions covering part of the image, but still remains visible.
Check it out:
In-Image Animated
As the name itself says, this is an animated banner that appears over the image. Please note that this format doesn’t cover the whole image but just a part of it.
See how it works:
In-Screen Frame (Expandable)
This banner format appears as a frame of the whole mobile screen. Meanwhile, the user can still touch and scroll the content inside the frame. After a short animation appears inside the frame , the banner decreases to the bottom of the screen.
If you thought that this was a bigger version of the “In-Image Frame” format, wait… this one expands! Once the banner shrinks to the bottom of the screen it allows the user to expand it, but this time over the whole screen. This means that this format allows you to have three different creatives and a higher chance to engage with the viewer.
See it in practice:
Scroll
This banner allows you to grab the user’s attention “on-the-scroll”. It appears in the text, but with every scroll the visual on the banner changes so that a quick message can be delivered while the user is scrolling through the content. The banner supports the maximum of 3 images due to its nature of appearance. 1…2…3… there you go:
So, those are the five newbies we have just added to our impressive portfolio of banner formats. As you already noticed, there are three types of “In-Image” ads. They show up inside of the image originally posted on the article and support HTML5 animation. Together with the “In-Screen” they have one common characteristic – responsiveness. This means that they adapt to the size of the image of appearance. On the other hand, we have the scrolling banner quite effective for delivering short and catchy promotional messages.
And, to answer your question– “Are these new banner formats Chrome-safe?” right away: The answer is yes. The huge buzz about the new regulations by Chrome made our traffic team do double checks, so we can assure you that with this new formats you have nothing to worry about.
If you have an upcoming campaign and ideas on how you can use these new formats, we would be glad to publish it through our network. If you are still not sure how you can advertise your brand with these banner formats, don’t wait – just drop a line here!
